Ingredients Needed

- Ground Beef: Ground chicken or turkey can also be used.
- White Onion: I use white onion, but you can use yellow or red if you prefer.
- Garlic: I prefer to use fresh garlic, but feel free to use jarred if it’s easier.
- Ketchup and Mustard: For the perfect zing in these cups.
- Biscuit Dough: Jumbo biscuit dough has proven the most reliable, but you should be able to make any kind work.
- American Cheese: Lots of cheese varieties work, but American cheese cubes are my favorite for this recipes.
- Toppings: I go with a classic combo of dill pickles, shredded lettuce, and some more diced onion.
How to Make Cheeseburger Cups

- Step 1: Cut each biscuit in half, then press flat.
- Step 2: Press each piece of dough into the sides of a greased muffin cup. Each biscuit half should be enough to fill each muffin pan cavity.
- Step 3: Heat a large skillet and add ground beef and onions. Cook until browned and mix in garlic, cooking until fragrant.
- Step 4: Add ketchup, mustard, and salt and pepper to taste, then remove from heat.

- Step 5: Add a cheese cube or two to each muffin pan cavity.
- Step 6: Divide ground beef mixture evenly into each biscuit cup. Place in a preheated oven and bake for 6 to 7 minutes, then remove, place another cube of cheese on top of the ground beef cheeseburger mixture, then bake for another 7 to 8 minutes. Cool slightly, then remove and serve with toppings.
Recipe Tips

- For a slightly lighter take on this dish, use ground turkey or ground chicken instead.
- Feel free to use other sauces in the meat, like my Homemade BBQ Sauce for a different flavor profile.
- Other topping ideas include diced tomatoes, diced pickles, a bit of avocado, bacon bits, sour cream, or a sprinkle of sesame seeds.
- Biscuit dough works best, but you can also use crescent dough. You may have to mold it more to each muffin tin cavity.
- You can also freeze your burger cups! Allow them to cool completely to avoid moisture, then transfer to a freezer bag and store for a month or longer in the freezer.
